Wow. Thats really unbelievable. My uncle actually saw the plane in the water because he works over there. I heard the pilot is getting an award from the national plane people thing. It’s amazing that people turned out okay–this really could have ended horribly.
Thank you for sharing this. That pilot can NEVER be thanked enough, not that he expects thanks. I saw his wife interviewed. She was of course rpoud of him, but she said “This is just him doing what I always knew he would in a situation like this”. Wow. Talk about needing a word stronger than “love”!
that wasn’t like lost at all! i guess thats statistic i heard was true about a persons chance of getting hurt in one of those being like 35,000:1
I actually haven’t heard a single thing about this.
Statistically it is considerably less likely US Airways will have another crash this year. I will only fly US Airways in 2009 if I can.
I will also pray of course, that always helps.
ya i saw that on the news last night. it was hella trippy. i like the fact that the crew and passengers werent acting all dramatic and crap like they would in the movies.
That was going back home to Charlotte… I’m glad I wasn’t on that flight, but I’m also glad the pilot knew exactly what he was doing and what to do…

That pilot is a total hero, no one else could have ever landed that plane the way he did…. this was lucky day for over 100 people.

oh wow. Thanks for putting up the video! all I see on the news are pictures…or video after the crash. this is fascinating. It kinda gives me more confidence for flying knowing that people are trained to do this, and it’s actually possible. :]
My friend’s husband flies for that airline so we were all glued to the tv. Absolutely amazing!!! Thanks for sharing the video of it. Catching a miracle on video is wonderful!!

Let me tell you… The Hudson River is mega cold this time of year. Maybe now Albany County will allow the airport to put some type of EFFECTIVE program in place to control the Canada Geese overpopulation. I use that airport and it can be quite scary to see the size and frequency of the geese flocks.

This brings tears to my eyes. What an amazing pilot, and a wonderful surge for hope for humanity. So happy for all of them.
This is the first time I actually watched footage of the crash, I guess I wasn’t interested enough to look for a vid of it. Thanks for posting it.
