Your layout makes me happy. and I came over to click your ads, do you have adsense?
Bleh. I’m dating an Environmental Science major. Global Warming isn’t a scam.
Great information! I am sooooo going to gas up my ride today and drive dirty. I wonder if they still sell cans of Aquanet? I’m bringing the LA skies to the world!
@baranorewen - did you watch it? its interesting. its just another side of things
@SnippiesBlog - just wanting to make sure the tip is in your jar, instead of xangas. If you didnt have premium, you would have ads on your site anyway! Just making sure. maybe Ill click them again for good measure.
I watched that in class in college, really interesting, there is a lot I’m sure we don’t know about…Al Gore better watch his back lol
@SnippiesBlog - Yeah, it is interesting. I just get sick of everything being conspiracy theories.
@antisoccermom - ya i have life. i actually just got paid by google this week!!! Gotta love it.
@baranorewen - oh this one is more science than theory
@AlterEgo909 - true i always thought al gore was right. so strange to see a different side with great facts
A scam? Depends on how you view it. Do WE, humans cause global warming or does the sun and erratic weather and shifts in climate cause global warming? The sun has been increasing thermal output for a long time and it is increasing, not decresing. Why not blame the Sun. That huge star in space that never stops burning…
The data is there and tells a compelling story. No one can, in good conscience, say that the crap we pour into the atmosphere, has no consequences. The fact that this data is being skewed for political gain, however, is shameful.
Gee… a politician who twists a fact to his benefit?
Nope, never heard of that in all my years.
Hope you sense the sarcasm, because i’m laying it on kinda thick.
Interesting! There is always two sides to every story. I say, don’t trust a big fiery ball of gas. LOL
I’ve known about all this for 5 years now.. I did a video about it just the other day
@OwenHiggins - did you post the video? i would love to see it
i like this explanation.. but maybe because it just provides a scapegoat for us humans
Absolutely not. The only people that think that are energy lobbyists and idiots.
I was interested until the British announcer started talking. They happen to love love love conspiracy theories, or anything that makes any important American look stupid.
I love you for posting this. I never did believe in global warming.
global warming is trendy. i’m sure it’s been a big deal before today.
Al Gore had to come up with something after he invented the Internet.
The sun controlling temperature on Earth? Outrageous!
@OurUnspokenTrust - I am with you. That just doesn’t make any sense : )
This is what I’ve been working on. I hadn’t come across this video. I feel ashamed.
We’re poisoning ourselves with CO2 in a baby way. Ask the militant environmentalists from Japan though… they’ve had enough.
Volcanoes and the ocean faults, especially around LOL
You should study Milankovic. He was one of the most grounded math people I’ve ever met, though his theories are a little difficult to understand and are untimely. Also, the greeks figured this out and charted it a long time ago (cycles) and others have spread it throughout time because it’s been a problem and a way to get rid of problems. I know that the sun cycles and that between 2011 and 2012, it’ll finish a big one. I’m not sure what drives the sun to do such an extreme cycle. I think it might be a black dot. Are there o ther external influences? I don’t think you can do anything about it. It’ll take the people of each direction to put the world back together again. I’m trying to figure out what’s going to happen to Mercury. BOOM! Sorry, I like to type. I’d stay away from places where they have drawings of Kali, tongues or blocks. Anyway, I’m almost certain we’re headed into another ice age because of the temperatures coming out of our summers. If you look through time, the more extreme the heat, the more likely it is that the winter will freeze. LOL I don’t know how to plot where or how far it’ll go. And I’m not certain about how long the sun will entertain us (because there will be a flare), we could also be underwater for awhile, but as soon as everything cools down, the poles will freeze again… wherever they are. Make Bill Gates make a computer program. I have a feeling the ancients really hated this event, so they spend a lot of time plotting it, and expressing it as God. You burst out of chaos. Man, I’d send everything we have information-wise up and away and program it to come back in capsules after 10 years or so.
My tire’s flat, and the car place is closed. I’m going to pay someone to take me to the used bookstore because I’ve run out of books about this. I’m not very smart, I’m sorry.
Owen did post the video. I just watched it. Here’s the link for ya. This is very interesting stuff.
I dont even want to watch it, I just want to comment on something.
I think its funny how first there was global warming, and no there isn’t, and then again there is. and this is like this and that is like that.
Science isn’t always 100%
Just because they THINK they know what they are doing, doesn’t mean they really do.
It’s possible, but why not take care of the earth anyway? Clean it up a bit. Make it a better place.
Oh, and although it’s crazy, a lot of the druggies seem to have some sort’of feeling about it. I’ll back through Lovecraft and try to see if he knew something.
The cloud people were fair skinned and mostly kept to themselves. They gave their daughters to local people as a way to establish relations and seemed to have superior knowledge in many fields, especially navigation. I’m not sure where they came from. I’m assuming up north because of their features. Anyway, I think they were the ones who helped the chiefs create religion.
I am glad for science, and how people are out there to refute theories. Nothing is definite–and I don’t like how people jump on hype just because it is in a flashy documentary. I am not convinced that Global Warming is happening the way Al Gore presents it, but I think it doesn’t hurt to treat our planet Earth better. There are way too many variables that have to be isolated to lay blame to anything. Evidence only suggests, not proves. I guess eventually (thousands of years down the road) the answers might slowly present themselves.
I just did a project on all of this crap. I wish I wouldn’t have left the movie at school, I would’ve posted it. Regardless of what politicians or scientists say why WOULDN’T we want to think ecologically? Scam or not, I think we’re going to be in trouble if we don’t change our ways.
Imagine trying to deal with this. Or some above do-are
People don’t like to notice that we’ve all become a lot smarter. Well, some. I’m crazy.
For my opinion, I invite you to borrow Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth,” widely heralded as the ultimate explanation of man-induced climate change.
Don’t bother watching it all the way through unless you just really want to. There’s only one part in the whole movie that’s interesting.
Skip ahead to where he shows the chart. THAT chart. The one which estimates CO2 in the atmosphere and global temperature. The ONLY piece of evidence in the whole movie. Yeah, THAT chart.
Now pause. Look at the chart. Take a piece of paper, or any straightedge. Now actually *look* at the lines for temperature and CO2. notice that temperature rises, and THEN CO2 rises. Temperature falls and THEN CO2 falls. He got the correlation right, but the causation is backwards.
Defintely an interesting side to the story. Thank you for brringing this side up to be considered
Thanks for spreading the word about the scam. It’s mainly a power play the liberals are using to control people.
There is always an element of truth in all scams, we just need to figure out how much of it is true or false.
You know I was gonna make a post on a topic similiar to this. But I do have to agree with the Co2 levels lag behind the temperature change and are a result of the temperature change not a cause. The problem with what Al Gore did was he put a gigantic graph of data for over 250,000 years or something which doesn’t give you enough detail to decide if co2 causes the temperature to change or the other way around. All you know is they correlate somehow.
The only other problem I have had with all the global warming nuts out there is that the earth has been warmer than it is now and has been cooler than it is now in the past. Its not an unnatural thing to happen. Besides wouldn’t good science eliminate other factors first before coming to the conclusion that man made pollutants are causing the temperature to rise? They haven’t, they simply looked at a few factors and siad hey look at this these match up really nicely. Lets base out entire theory on this graph alone. Then on top of all that this is also the only theory I know of that relies heavily on models for proof that its happening. Don’t you generally need mounds of evidence for something in the scientific fields to be considered even a theory.
There is still quite a bit of debate amongst the scientific community as to whether globaly warming is caused by humans. But to say that the amount of CO2 does not lead to temp. increase seems to be scientifically remiss. I’m not an astronomer, so somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but has it not been well established that the reason venus’ temp can rise above mercury’s is due to the amount of CO2 in its atmosphere? I’m going to go hit the old gen chem book to look up info on CO2.
love the banner :]
I’ve seen this movie before, it’s really good. I’m glad this was posted, that was some of the stuff I remembered and liked best in the movie.
Global climate change is a reality. Whether human activity is a significant causal factor and whether we can do anything to mitigate global warming’s effects or adapt ahead of time are other issues entirely. For me anyway the issue isn’t whether any the environment is worth protecting for our posterity, but whether the measures we are taking are appropriate or will even be effective. If not, they are more of a hinderance and waste of resources than anything.
@baranorewen - I used to sort of be dating someone who took an Environmental Law class this past semester, so I know what I’m talking about. Don’t question me.
Hmm. There is actually a lot of science that backs up this Brit’s theory, according to leading scientists who point out that the widely touted “consenus” of 2,500 scientists on the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was actually an illusion. A) most of the panelists had no special scientific qualifications at all, and b) many of the others objected to parts of the IPCC’s report. Only 52 scientists altogether contributed to the report’s summary, on which the policymakers based their votes. Furthermore, only about 12 members of the governing board bought in and voted on the “consensus statement” on climate change by the American Meteorological Society.
S. Fred Singer, an environmental scientist at UVA, and a research prof at George Mason (among about a gazillion other qualifications), said that about 50 percent of AMS scientists challenge the veracity of the man-made global warming theory. He also goes into the correllation vs. causation, among numerous other things.
Also, I haven’t finished watching the video yet, but in case they don’t bring it up: there have been drastic global temperature changes in the past, and it appears (from chronological graphs) that it is a cyclical trend for the temperature to change. Think seasons, only on a much larger scale and longer time frame. It is natural.
@bigot65 - I … uh … wasn’t planning on it. I’m not sure what the snippy (LOL SNIPPIE) was about.
There is one huge inconsistency in any theory which states the Earth has been here for millions of years. This planet has only existed for a few thousand years. Yes, the CO2 is indeed making our planet warmer, but do not be fooled by naturaist, evolutionist schools of thought.
There is no global warming. The temperature goes up and down naturally over the years. It is a scam indeed.
@baranorewen - I’m sorry, I was just joking. It was in reference to your dating an environmental science major. My jokes fail when I have to explain them, but it seems they fail if I don’t explain them too. Que sera, sera, I suppose.
I think… I am going to contribute to the extinction of the human race as hard as I can in my lifetime, because it’s the only thing I can be sure of, and asm is as boring as an old man recalling his childhood in the 1900′s.
About as pretty too, She didn’t breed did she? I bet her kids got them busted cheekbones too…
sassy,
Plus, as living proof of the braininess of xanga, all it takes is a youtube video to really get people excited.
Go to school you fucking proletarian yab dolts. You’re breathing my air. Won’t matter, I have my life purpose.

CO2 is being blamed, but the so call experts ignore H2O. Have you ever noticed that on a cloudy night with no wind the temperature doesn’t drop as fast as when it clear? If the man made global warming adherents are so worried about C02, why don’t they find away to recycle their hot breath? @TheBigShowAtUD - Now AG is getting fat using scare tactics!
@antisoccermom - A word of warning: clicking on Google ads without buying stuff can result in an IP being banned (or the AdSense account being deactivated for fraud). I’ve seen it happen elsewhere, although not on Xanga.
One easy way to spot if an ad is from Xanga or elsewhere is the number of ads. Classic (non Premium) ads only have one ad (on the side). If someone has put ads on their site, there are usually more than one..
@HeartOfPandora - Yah I agree – but that accent kills me every time. He sounds so smart… must be the accent.
@john - Ohh…ahaha thought you had a thing for Al Gore’s. But not all Brits sound smart lol…the Welsh, though, they’ve got it covered.
@storyslut - The sun not affecting our temperature is like saying an ember from a fire can’t burn your clothes or the end of a cigarette can’t burn down a house.
Jeez, where did you find this, a Chevron-sponsored think tank? The science in this is just God-awful and the “experts” they touted in this clip are nobodys. I looked up their professional history, credentials, and peer-reviewed published papers and listening to them would be the equivalent of heeding the advice of your middle school soccer coach on cancer treatment.
Honestly, the sheer ignorance of the American public in basic science education and understanding was the reason the tobacco industry convinced so many for so long that “there is no clear link between smoking and cancer” and the reason why “intelligent design” sounds like a good idea to half the population.
I don’t know whether to feel more angry or depressed right now at the state of our generation: that for my age group, a youtube documentary can hold as much weight as the combined consensus of a panel representing respected, published researchers from across the scientific and global spectrum.
@TheBigShowAtUD - Germ Theory got pretty trendy for awhile. Then fighting that whole apartheid thing…a lot of folks jumped on that bandwagon. Just because a bunch of vapid hipsters leech onto an issue does not detract from its importance or the urgency with which it should be tackled. If anything, being trendy can be detrimental to a cause, because their equally conformist twin, the anti-trendy person, automatically writes it off.
PS: I don’t want to sound like I am lashing out or criticizing you. A healthy debate never hurts. But I just read a lot of the comments on your post, the youtube clip itself, and lately global warming “skepticism” sites and it’s been annoying the hell out of me. I get very worked up and opinionated when it comes to science and the butchering of it.
You know what, I really believed in global warming being the downfall of Man and the Earth all last year, but now this year…not so much. Has it just gone out of style, or have I just grown up and have a clearer head now?
@HeartOfPandora - Haha… you figured me out. I dream about Al Gore… it’s my own inconvenient truth.
I heard the Bush administration and car and gas companies pay thousands of scientists to come out with information that contradicts global warming.
Sorry! I forgot you can’t copy/paste from MSWord! Man made global warming is nothing more than the rich trying to get richer on the backs of the middle class. (would anyone like to trade carbon credits?) CO2 is being blamed, but the so called experts ignore H2O. Have you ever noticed that on a cloudy night with no wind the temperature doesn’t drop as fast as when it clear? If the man made global warming adherents are so worried about CO2, why don’t they find away to recycle their hot breath? T.Boone Pickens wants to build giant wind farms. Great! Wind is free isn’t it? But has anyone studied what the effect of these monstrosities might do to the wind patterns? He also wnat convert the entire fleet of truchs to natural gas. Ok, trailers are banned from most tunnels because of the risk of explosionl I wonder what would happen to one of these NG powered trucks if it caught fire on say the Golden Gate Bridge? Did you know that back in the 70′s a electrical engineer made a gas/electric car that got 75 mpg? And he did that with off the shelf parts!
@TheBigShowAtUD - Now AlGore is getting fat using scare tactics!
I’m sure mankind has done it’s share of harm to this planet but, scientists (and Gore) think too much of themselves. They are only trying to make a name for themselves. They are not going to save the planet from anything with their fearmongering.
It’s like evangelism. People have had too much hellfire & brimstone to be impressed by it anymore. If you really want to change the world, show how saving this tiny amount of water over here and that tiny amount of fuel over there will really and truly add up into significant help. Try to teach the moral side of it (not impose your morality just teach the morality). I believe we are morally obligated to save where we can, beautify where we can, be as ecologically “small” as we can. The more people that learn that the easier cleaning things up will be.
Education is valuable, but “We’re all gonna die in 100 years if we don’t start driving Priuseses!!!1111!!” isn’t going to change anything.
@denigma21 - true, true. i just wanted to throw in the comment about Al Gore and the Internet, really. global warming is serious business. i mean that. also, it’s not a good trip to the zoo without seeing polar bears, so… we need to make efforts to keep them alive.
I honestly think it’s obvious that we are having a problem with global warming.. We need to take better care of Earth regardless
@TheBigShowAtUD - Al Gore doesn’t care about polar bear people.
All good; I think I just singled your comment out to vent the frustration I feel when I see the disconnect between the scientific community and the public at large.
There is no global warming. The earth goes through cyclic changes every now and then. Lots of people comment on how the weather, for instance, has changed since they were a child. When I grew up in the State of Maine, the Winters were unforgiving. Snow storms galore. Then, suddenly it was mild there for years and years. Now we are back, for the most part, to the hellacious Winters once again. These changes happen all over the world. Of course, if we didn’t pollute as much, things could improve, but cyclic changes happen at regular intervals. All continents have observed cyclic changes. I think perhaps space shuttles and aircraft may play some part in the ozone layer not functioning as well as it used to and high levels of pollution certainly don’t help. We are just alive in a time where we are in another change happening in the universe and here on Earth. In other words, this is not a new phenomenon, it has happened before and will happen again.
@OurUnspokenTrust - Yes, outrageous. The sun is underestimated in this global warming concern.
it’s power of heat control and erratic outbirsts cannot be ignored, neither can the ridiculous amount of posions chemicals we out into the air. it obviously mixes together and….hmmmm
Interesting…
Wow, what an eye opener!
Thank you a lot for posting this. I’ve always thought Al Gore was a dumb ass though. :}

Man made global warming is nothing more than the rich trying
to get richer on the backs of the middle class. CO2 is being
blamed, but the so call experts ignore H2O. Have you ever
noticed that on a cloudy night with no wind the temperature doesn’t drop as
fast as when it clear? If the man made global warming adherents are so
worried about C02, why don’t they find away to recycle their hot breath?
@john - Who, Gore?
@HeartOfPandora - The British narrator?
healthy debate never hurts. But I just read a lot of the comments on
your post, the youtube clip itself, and lately global warming
“skepticism” sites and it’s been annoying the hell out of me. I get
very worked up and opinionated when it comes to science and the
butchering of it.
@welney07 - Where did you hear that?
hmmmmmmm.
Thank you a lot for posting this.
I’ve always thought Al Gore was a dumb ass though. :}
Thanks for posting this.
